In reply to your letter of 5th October last, requesting us to act as a Committee to inquire into the subject of Land tenure in this Colony, we must first express our regret that the nature of the question, joined to the absence, sickness, occupation at various times of the different members of our Committee, has prevented us from bringing our investigation to a conclusion.

2. It is a cause of further regret to us that we are unable to agree unanimously on the subject submitted to us.

3. On the whole, we have the same views; and our reply will notice the points on which we all entertain the same views; and the several opinions of the individual members of our Committee will be found.
